Happy August everyone!

It’s been a good run for me so far, in terms of reading and I want to share my mid-year book haul! These are the ones I bought and received since April.

After donating two boxes of books earlier this year, I decided to buy books only if I’m sure that I’m going to read it or it’s something I read before that I want a personal copy for keeps.

New Books

📚 The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren – Not a superfan but I enjoyed Christina Lauren’s Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Dating. I wanted to read more books from them. Besides, there are a lot of positive reviews for this book which makes me really excited!

📚 The Silvered Serpents by Roshani Chokshi – While I think I already have moved forward from reading fantasy novels, I still want to give this a try. I had The Gilded Wolves already that’s why I bought this book!

📚 Isn’t It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams – I had the audiobook on loan, but I needed a print or e-book to read along. I inquired for a print copy from my local bookstore but they didn’t have it yet. After a few days, I bit the bullet and 1-clicked this from Amazon. Then a friend told me it was already available locally. This is why I ended up with both physical and digital copies! No regrets though, as it was my favorite from the series! I’ll post my review soon!

📚 The Silence of Bones by June Hur – I’ve been wanting to read this since I love historical K-dramas. This is set in Joseon Era but with murder stuff so color me very intrigued 👀🔪🔪

📚 The Intimacy Experiment by Rosie Danan – I loved Danan’s debut, The Roommate. I’m very excited to read this one because I enjoyed Naomi’s character!

📚 Dial A For Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto – I’ve already read this one last month and I really enjoyed it! It was utterly hilarious and I loved the romance subplot! Definitely recommended!

📚 The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida by Clarissa Goenawan – I got this signed finished copy of this book from the author in exchange for a review. I’ve skimmed some of the contents and found it really intriguing! I’m excited to read this one!

Second Hand Books

My friend, JM (@JustReadJM), was selling some of his books and found some I really loved but didn’t have physical copies yet. I bought these four books from him!

📚 Sadie by Courtney Summers – This is my favorite YA thriller. I can still feel the goosebumps just by thinking about my whole reading experience.

📚 Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy – One of my favorite contemporaries ever! I’m so glad I got this because this is a signed first edition!

📚 Meet Cute by Helena Hunting – I really had fun listening to the audiobook, thank you, Teddy Hamilton. I’m excited to re-read this one!

📚 The Friend-Zone by Abby Jimenez – I enjoyed this one in audio as well. Thanks again, Teddy Hamilton! 😂 This is one of my favorite books of 2019!

Kindle Book Haul

I’m not about to expose myself to the ones I got on BookBub deals for free. Yep, there’s more! But I’m only showing the ones I bought and spent actual money on hahaha! 🤣

From these, I’ve managed to read Mutually Beneficial, Undercover Bromance, Isn’t It Bromantic? and Dare To Live, Dare To Love. I enjoyed the first three books I mentioned, while the last one was a DNF.

So here goes my reading plan for the rest of the year! Since most titles from my physical book haul are ones I’ve already read. I can focus on the titles in my Kindle!

Reading Update 📖

As of writing, I’m currently reading Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous by Suzanne Park. I’m about halfway through the book and I have to admit it’s a little slow for my liking. I hope it picks up because I like the premise.

I also picked up The Intimacy Experiment by Rosie Danan, just so I can balance the sweet YA with this steamy adult romance hahaha!

  1. I’m so curious about Rosie Danan’s first book, the cover caught my eye a while ago and it definitely sounds like my kind of romance. I’ll have to add it to my wishlist along with The Intimacy Experiment. Great haul, so many brill titles!

  2. I totally relate to you on buying tons of ebooks haha, I’m the same! Especially lately since I have a little more disposable income. I also prefer ebooks to paperbacks except for some specific types of books so I go very click heavy haha. Hope you enjoy all the books that you bought!
