Happy Halloween!

It’s finally Spooktober time! Halloween is actually my favorite season because I love horror movies and thrillers in general. Although, I have to admit that I don’t watch horror as much as I used to because it’s hard to find good horror movies. So I usually stick to reading thrillers, especially YA!

My Halloween TBR List 📚

Now, some of you might know that I’m a mood reader. This means I’m not probably going to strictly follow this list. But it was fun trying to figure out what works for me.

📚 Marvel Zombies by Robert Kirkman. Let’s blame the What If Zombies? episode for this one. I’ve already read the first issue but I’m saving the rest for this month!

📖 The Project by Courtney Summers. I bought this book early this year but I still haven’t picked it up. I’ve been really looking forward to reading this especially after reading Sadie, which I loved!

📚 Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall. I have had this since 2019 but I keep putting it off until I saw Kal @ Reader Voracious talking about this. So I figured it’s time to give it a go!

My Halloween Watchlist 📺

I’m also on the Squid Game hype train and I’m planning on finishing it today. Then I’ll spend all weekends of October watching these movies and shows:

📺 Midnight Mass (2021, dir. Mike Flanagan). I’ve been eyeing this since I saw the teasers but I decided to watch Squid Game first. Besides, this definitely gives off the spooky vibes perfect for Halloween!

📽 The 8th Night (2021, dir. Kim Tae Hyoung). Horror movies from South Korea are sort of a hit or miss for me. But the jumpscares always deliver! I just hope this one also does because two of my favorite child actors are in here: Kim Yoo Jung and Nam Da Reum.

🎞 Fear Street Trilogy (2021, dir. Leigh Janiak). I only got to watch the first one of the trilogy when this got released. In my defense, I was too hooked up with the other stuff I was watching 😂. Anyway, I’m going to rewatch part one then continue with the rest this month.

As always, I don’t set expectations for myself but I’m really hoping I get to read and watch all this stuff this month. I also have some October ARCs left, which are mostly romance so I’ll squeeze them along just to have variety. As for my watchlist, since Hometown Cha Cha Cha and What If? are about to end, I know I can watch the ones I listed here.

  1. AAAHHHH I HOPE YOU ENJOY MIDNIGHT MASS AND FEAR STREET HUHUHUHU. My fave TV moments of 2021, honestly. And thanks for reminding me to watch The 8th Night hahaha!

  2. Midnight Mass is on my watchlist and I’m trying to convince my partner to watch it with me since he knows I’m a total wimp with horror TV shows/Movies, but I’m also glued to them at the same time haha. This is the first time I’m hearing of The 8th Night, but I’ll definitely be adding it to my Halloween watch list. Enjoy. 😀
